Azerbaijani-Americans for Democracy (AZAD)

We hold these truths to be self-evident...

Azerbaijani-Americans for Democracy (AZAD) is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that advocates US support for democracy in Azerbaijan and other countries and promotes US-Azerbaijani relations based on principles of respect for fundamental human rights and liberties, peaceful coexistence, regional stability and economic development. AZAD's activities focus on raising awareness, stimulating open discussion and engaging individual Americans, organizations, private and government institutions, and media. We believe that freedom of speech, free and fair elections, equality before the law and other liberties and rights, upon which the United States of America was founded, should be properly reflected in US foreign policy. Promotion of these universal principles serves American interests by facilitating the development of just and open societies across the globe, with which we can build reliable alliances based on shared values and a common vision for a free and peaceful world.
